[wtp-releng] Re: [wtp-dev] Heads up: Java EE Tools is branching for 3.2 after 3.1 RC4

Folks,

We have now branched. Please be aware that we will be using the HEAD versions of our plugins for WTP 3.2 development. (Therefore, if for some reason additional changes are needed for WTP 3.1, the R3_1_maintenance version of the plugins need to be loaded, whereas the HEAD versions of the releng projects are needed.) We have two bugs that we are going to commit soon for WTP 3.2, and both will have impacts that the wtp developer community and adopters should be aware of:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=269281 will remove a lot of the JEM dependencies that WTP has. (Note that we are not planning to do much to JEM itself.) If done correctly, impact to adopters should be minimal, as noted in the bug.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=279627 is an update of the compiler settings for most of the (non-test, non-JEM) plugins that we just branched. (Including some compiler settings that are new to Eclipse 3.5.)

And here is a list of the plugins that were just branched to R3_1_maintenance for continued 3.1.x work. (Note that our team has responsibility for an eclectic combination of plugins, so these include some common and some ejb plugins):
