The current release of the JSF tools project doesn't have support for the Trinidad components in the Design tab of the Web Page Editor. You can still use any component in the source tab of WPE. We are working on enhancements to WPE that would address this, but we have no committed plans to announce yet.
Also, please post such questions to the newsgroup, http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/thread.php?group=eclipse.webtools.jsf . The mailing list is for issues related to the development of the JSF Tools project.
Thanks for your interest in the project.

Subject: [wtp-jsf-dev] Support for trinidad components in visual page editor
Im working on a project on JSF and use the eclipse visual page editor
(WTP) for editing the pages. I started using trinidad components and
found that there is no support for them in the visual page editor for
design-time rendering. Is it something wrong I am doing or is it not
supported? What can I do for adding this support? Is there anything
being done to add this support? In what way can I add support for the
trinidad components for design time rendering?
Thanks and Cheers
