[vtp-dev] VTP Development Call Minutes: January 5, 2005

Eclipse Voice Tools Development Call Minutes

January 5, 2006, 11am EST

Attendees:

Brent D. Metz, IBM
Jeff Pedigo, SandCherry
Chris Kramp, SandCherry
Michael Greenawalt, TellMe

The call began with a discussion of the status of the project. It was stated that the TellMe submission is still
going through the contribution evaluation process at the Eclipse Foundation and that a second milestone is delayed
pending proper integration of the submission. Due to the delay of the second milestone it was noted that the release date
of the project is very likely not going to be at the end of January.

An update of the TellMe contribution was given. It was stated that bug fixes have continued while the evaluation
process has been under way.

The design of the log table in the input view was discussed. The merits and pitfalls of allowing the browser to send log
event timestamps back as a String versus a Java Date object were discussed. The question of internationalization of time
was raised and one participant noted that preferred time delimiters can vary by locale. It was agreed that the best
solution would be to allow the user to customize the time display via a preference page.

It was noted that the help should be reorganized to take advantage of the extra time to finish the milestone release while
the legal process is ongoing. Callers were encouraged to evaluate the help and provide suggestions for improvement or
write new sections. The need for tutorials in the integrated help was brought up.

The daily build process was mentioned as having issues. A caller noted that builds were previously not being updated daily.
It was agreed that the issue would be investigated immediately.
