Re: [ve-dev] ve/swt support

... help will always be welcomed.   My thinking is that in a few weeks we will have a *stable* V3 based driver on the CVS head stream, where we will start add the initial plumbing support for SWT so that we can drop a few SWT widgets (SWT screen scrape, target VM environment etc.).   We could then work out a detailed list of work items (and their dependencies) that needs to be worked on, and use this mailing list (or maybe the web site) to allow folks to pick up orphaned work items.   Those developers that are not commiters (have no write permission on the CVS repository) would be matched up with a commiter as a ref. point for question, code review, and checkin.   Dave, does this conform to our charter?  It will take a few iteration to get the kinks out from this process so to enable VE to truly be developed in the open.  There is significant work to that needs attention to in order to provide full support (layouts, widgets, property editors, pallette, source code patterns etc.).

Great to have you with us!  Happy new year!

The IBM team is currently upgrading the code base for Eclipse 3.0
compatibility.

Most of the rest of us are starting to work through and understand the
code base so we can discuss intelligently how to make it support SWT, so
that's where I'd suggest starting.
