Re: [tm-dev] Fwd: [510140] Merge 19 datatools repos into one, need webmaster assistance

BTW, there’s a lot of history on why the Terminal and RSE are separate. The intention was for them to head to different projects, and RSE in particular head to the archive. And they somewhat started life as two separate projects (RSE actually fell out of the original CDT, pre QNX, and Terminal was somewhere in DSDP). But probably none of that matters any more if they’re entering maintenance mode. But just in case you were wondering…

Subject: [tm-dev] Fwd: [510140] Merge 19 datatools repos into one, need webmaster assistance

Hi Webmaster:

We're requesting the following actions be performed on the https://git.eclipse.org/c/tm/org.eclipse.tm.git repository:

1. disable IP check (web master)

2. forge author (already on by default)

3. grant forge committer (web master)

4. grant forge server (web master)

This is regarding the request to merge the 2 tm repos (tm + tm.terminal) into a single one, as per https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=536507

The approvals from committers & users are already posted to the above BZ and this thread [0].

I'm not sure if a PMC and EMO vote appears there, so Wayne & Tools PMC, please cast your +1 if you haven't already.

I'm sending this note to request a time ASAP to open the gates so I can then perform the merge and push as described here [1], followed by a number of commits I've added since then to my fork [2] to make the build better, including some reorg, upversioning to 4.5.0 across all artifacts, and more relengy goodness. See my fork for the list of changes I'd like to merge into master and start building for Simrel 2018-09 M3.

Thanks,
