[tm-dev] TM on Github

Hi TM Committers,

As you might be aware, there are some forks/clones of TM Terminal functionality in the wild: Aptana has cloned the TM Terminal [1] a couple years ago already, and another more recent clone is on Google Code, which again has 4 clones [2].

In order to foster collaboration with those forks and help them merge changes back into our master as appropriate, I wanted to have our repo mirrored on Github; Github facilitates “Social Coding” by maintaining a network of cloned repositories and keeping their connections.

Unfortunately, the github mirroring mechanism is not really reliable [3], so Wayne Beaton has suggested maintaining the github mirror ourselves, which means setting up a cronjob of some sort to push our repo to github regularly. Anna, Dave, others – what do you think about this ?

Thanks,

Martin
