I'm not seeing any of these discussions on the mailing list (http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/alf-dev/) - can you point me to where those open and transparent discussions about the future of the open source ALF project have been taking place? Because, to be blunt, if the discussions were not in the open, then that sort of proves the PMC's contention that the project isn't really an open source project, eh?
