Re: [technology-pmc] usage fragments of Apache code

Wayne and Eugene,

The M2E project page is now showing the egg logo, so I updated the status in the database. Eugene, when you have downloads available, please be sure that the egg logo is on the download page and that your download packages include the word "incubation." Thanks.

Hey Eugene, I notice that M2E isn't marked as Incubation-conforming. Can you take the necessary steps to get it into a conforming state?

I've approved the CQ.

Hi,

For M2E project (Maven Integration, currently in the incubator) we need to use some fragments of Apache code (namely code from maven- ear-plugin) to read data from the xml structures used by this plugin.

We can't use code from that Apache component as is, but also didn't want to rewrite xml parsers from scratch. So, I opened CQ 2605 and requested to allow us to use modified code from maven-ear-plugin. I've been also advised by IP team to bring that issue to technology PMC and get an approval for that from PMC.

Can someone comment on this and/or approve CQ 2605 for us?

Thanks

Eugene
