Re: [tcf-dev] Plans for TCF moving forward

Hi Christophe,

We are planning a contribution to allow reading the absolute path of an exe:
https://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/tcf-dev/msg00918.html

This will formally be an API addition so a minor version uprev is needed.

Fortunately, the Eclipse.org process overhead for cutting a release has become really low these days. More and more projects release frequently (CDT, EGit, Linuxtools most notably). Orion releases even more frequently.

So bottomline, we'd be planning to continue our work in master like we did in the past year, we'd just be calling it 1.4 in September. Personally I can't see much of an issue with that, but perhaps I am missing something.

If you have any specific concerns please let us know !

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

I don't understand why you are planning 1.4 so soon. TCF 1.3 is to be released as part of Mars (finally) but it was originally scheduled for Luna [1].

Between Mars release (end of june) and SR1 is the summer period during which commits are usually less active, I don't see how it is possible to bring any value for a new release in such a short amount of time.
