Subject: [tcf-dev] Contributed TCF-1.2 (and NOT master!) for Luna M7
Hi all,
I have contributed the latest TCF-1.2 build 14 for Eclipse 4.4 Luna M7:
Update site:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/tcf/builds/1.2/milestones/m7/
Downloadable repo:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/tcf/builds/1.2/milestones/m7/org.eclipse.tcf.repo.zip
I’ve had to contribute a build based on 1.2 rather than current 1.3 master build, mostly because master introduced a dependency on org.eclipse.tm.terminal_3.2.300 which the TM project hasn’t contributed to Luna yet; I
have reached out to the TM project lead, Greg Watson, asking if/when they would consider contributing TM 3.6m7.
Knowing that Eclipse 4.4 Luna is going into “endgame” mode with RC1 in just 2 weeks, I thought that it might be less stress for all of us if we just
stay on the 1.2 stream for Luna … and considered contributing TCF-1.3 with Eclipse 4.4 SR1 in September, similar to what CDT does these days with their “fast feature releases”. We could still backport necessary fixes / changes into the 1.2 stream for
Luna, but at the same time this approach would enable us to continue full speed on features in master.
Does anybody have any concerns with this approach ?
Thanks,
Martin
