Re: [tcf-dev] Eclipse / CDT / RSE versions for TCF

Good point.

I had been looking at this as the overall “Getting Started” doc which I read when I’m new to the project.

But you are right, the checked-in docs should strictly refer to the stream they relate to.

I guess that choosing a Stream would be one of the first things to do when I look at the project from the outside.

Looks like we’ll need a new Getting Started trampoline on our Wiki or Webpages to satisfy that.

Please proceed making the changes on master.

I suggest adding a note like

“These instructions refer to the 1.1 version of TCF. For other available Streams please refer to the http://wiki.eclipse.org/TCF>TCF project homepage.”

Thanks,

Martin

+1. The document should only contain the information which are relevant for the checked out branch.

Just my 2 cents, Uwe

Yes, TCF 1.1 depends on CDT 8.1.x. I'll update it, but I'm not sure it it makes sense to cram both 1.0 and 1.1 version of the doc into one. After all doesn't it make sense to keep the 1.0 version in the 1.0 branch?

Hi,

Do we have any dependency on CDT 8.1 yet in master ?

If yes, the versions in the getting started doc should be updated – ideally separately highlighting the “master” branch versus “1.0” branch.
