Hi,
Short story:
Work on Spaces is progressing well. Can everyone
participate in the Spaces call on Wednesday to dicsuss next steps?
Longer story:
Some of the things that have changed recently
are:
- There is a Spaces Import Wizard that imports an
update site to the Target Platform or to Workspace with capability of creating
projects out of source!
- Republishing (using same settings as for last publish) is
implemented
- The xdrive login is now integrated with spaces
(i.e. the credentials entered in the add space dialog are now actually
used)
- The add space dialog is now configured based on
data declared in the space provider extension point.
- There is button in the add space dialog that gives
user suggested/template data in the fields to edit rather than just empty
fields.
- A reset password action have been added
to spaces view context menu (over space)
- The unused / confusing fields at the bottom of the
add space dialog dealing with source are now gone as the new publishing and
import provides superior functionality.
And if you had not noticed before :)
- there are now nice spaces icons in use for space
nodes in the spaces view, and in the wizard/dialog headings.
- context sensitive help is available in the wizards
and dialogs, and the text is now somewhat styled to better fit in the narrow
"help tray".
So, what remains right now:
- Instructions how to use spaces
- Thomas is doing finishing touches on publishing
the way that Space Import imports things! If not done already, this should be
finished tomorrow.
- Fixing issues that turned up during testing - all
will be fixed tomorrow:
- Xdrive exceptions for FailedLogin does not make
a distinction between this case and hard "should not happen" errors which
leads to bad user feedback for "failed login".
- Spaces View happily continues to build the space
tree even if there was a failed login (same cause as above) - and should
give up after the first failed login and display this status in the
tree.
- A refresh action in the spaces view
- Remove of an xdrive file
