[sirius-dev] Sirius source code available

Hi all,

I am very pleased to announce that the first version of the Sirius source code is available. You can get it from

  http://git.eclipse.org/c/sirius/org.eclipse.sirius.git

The current code compiles without problems (for Helios, Indigo, Juno and Kepler). It is based on a semi-automatic "rebranding" of the (proprietary) Viewpoint code base which used a different namespace, and there are still some parts where the names were not correctly handled. This will be fixed progressively in the next few days and weeks, but as it is now the system works fine despite some strange names here and there.

Basic instructions on how to build the sources are available at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Sirius/Try_It and the documentation is visible directly at http://www.eclipse.org/sirius/doc.

Note that we will take the opportunity of the switch to Eclipse and the name change to make some large scale reorganization of the code, for better modularization and maintainability (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Sirius/Modularization for details). This means a lot of things will be renamed and/or moved around in the next few weeks and months, so right now is not the best time to start building on the Sirius APIs.

A few important pointers:
* The main wiki page (which also contains a few pointers) is at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Sirius
* The forum: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/eclipse.sirius.
* The Bugzilla: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?list_id=6776579&classification=Modeling&query_format=advanced&product=Sirius

Regards,
Pierre-Charles David (Sirius project co-lead)
