[rap-dev] Service Release for RAP 2.0 fixes critical bug

Hi all,

we've discovered a critical bug [1] in RAP 2.0. This bug, which seems
to affect all IE browsers, leads to a permanent sequence of requests
while the server push is activated. This can cause extreme server
load, especially for applications that enable server push globally.

The problem is almost invisible at development time as it doesn't
cause any functional problems and the increased load is hardly
noticable with a single session. That's also one reason why this bug
could slip through our tests.

Since we regard this bug as critical, we decided to provide a fix with
an unscheduled service release, RAP 2.0.1. Besides this bugfix, the
service release contains only one additional fix for another bug that
can lead to a client crash when the browser is zoomed [2]. Both issues
are fixed in RAP 2.1.

RAP 2.0.1 is immediately available on our download page [3] and in the
RAP 2.0 repository. Everyone who uses RAP 2.0 should upgrade to 2.0.1.

Since only the rwt bundle is affected, other bundle's versions remain
unchanged. There is also no update for the RAP Tools.

We're sorry for the inconvenience this bug may have caused.

Regards,
Ralf
