Now since SR1 (CDT 6.0.1) is out, you should be able to install it online from the *CDT* Galileo update site at
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/galileo
Note the "the rest of CDT" isn't available from the regular Galileo update site.

Note, however, that CDT 6.0.1 doesn't bump its feature versions, so it will still "look like" CDT 6.0.0
If you see 20090911xxxx at the end of the plugins and feature versions, though, it's the right one.
CDT 6.0.1 final version was built on 20090911

I still prefer installing "offline" from the cdt-master-xxx.zip file, though.

The XLC support for RDT needs to be made into a feature so it can be skipped. It shouldn't be a problem to install CDT-XLC, but I think both it and the CDT-UPC support can only be installed from the CDT master update archive.

You need the UPC feature of CDT. CDT core doesn't include all the optional features.

OK so you unchecked PLDT-UPC. That fixed the above error.

I don't know why RDT requires CDT-XLC. That's probably a bug but install it and that should fix things.
Can you please file a bugzilla report?
And yes you need RSE if you are installing all of PTP.

The release notes cover most of this.
I usually install everything in CDT except for "CDT testing"

Hi folks,

I just tried to rebuild a PTP 3.0 installation from scratch with C/C++ Galileo SR1 package including CDT 6.0.1, photran-master-5.0.0-I200908271000.zip and ptp-master-3.0.0-I200908291618.zip in a Win32 virtual machine.
- Photran install OK
- PTP install (check all) => First problem:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: PTP Parallel Language Development Tools UPC Support 3.0.0.200908291618 (org.eclipse.ptp.pldt.upc.feature.group 3.0.0.200908291618)
Missing requirement: PTP Parallel Language Development Tools UPC Support 3.0.0.200908291618 (org.eclipse.ptp.pldt.upc.feature.group 3.0.0.200908291618) requires 'org.eclipse.cdt.core.parser.upc 5.0.0' but it could not be found

2nd tentative: I uncheck PTP Parallel Language Development Tools UPC Support 3.0.0.200908291618
