Thanks. I attached the patch to bug 540578. I created it as an Eclipse workspace patch and by selecting the containing plugin names when I created the package. Hopefully, I got the patch generated correctly.

I didn't have anything in git preferences or repo properties. I found a web page that sais I should set user.name and user.email in git preferences so I did that and backed out my commit again. I restarted Eclipse and redid the commit. This time my correct email appeared in the git commit dialog and in the signed off field. When I ran the push to gerrit I got the same message with the same invalid email address.

I think the email address is derived from my local machine IP address and my Windows 10 account name.

Looking at the message again, I think I have a push to gerrit stuck somewhere because the IP address does not match my current IP address and the commit id is not the same as the commit id that shows up in the git reflog.

Would it be simpler and more efficient for both of us if I was to just attach a patch to my bug report? The fix itself is pretty small, less than 100 lines including whitespace

Go to preferences>Team>Git>Configuration and see what email address is there. You can also check on the repo itself to see if there is an email address configured.

I have my changes to LSF target system configurations done and committed in my local repository. I created bug 540478 and assigned it to myself.
Then I tried pushing my changes to gerrit, where I was able to log in to gerrit after creating a new gerrit password. The push failed with a popup in Eclipse

The first time I committed my changes, I forgot about the author and committer email boxes at the bottom of the commit window which were filled in with the email address containing an IP address, and which is not a valid email address for me. I tried to amend the commit and redo the push a few times after correcting these email addresses without success.

Then I discarded the commit by performing a hard reset to HEAD and redoing the commit after fixing my email addresses to match what's registered to gerrit. I still got the same popup. I don't know where Eclipse is getting this email address or how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Hi Dave,

This is usually because the repositories in the target definition have moved. Are you on the master branch or the ptp_9_1 branch? I'll take a look and update the target definition if necessary.

I switched to ptp_9_1 where oxygen.target is the latest target definition file, used oxygen.target and got similar results

I have Photon 4.8.0 as my IDE. I opened the photon.target file using the target editor. I clicked Set as target platform and Eclipse runs for a while and then the locations window is updated to look like the following, where no locations are resolved.I have also tried this with ohter target definition files for Oxygen and Neon with similar results. I also tried 'Reload Target Platform' and that also fails.
I don't know why this fails. Am I missing a step?
