[ptp-dev] Testing Framework

At the XSEDE2013 Bof we demonstrated a system for automatically testing 
the eclipse gui. The next logical steps in developing this tool would be 
to set up a virtual machine, pull the nightly builds, run the tests, and 
create an rss feed based on the results. That way, we'd be able to more 
easily track when disruptive updates occurred.

My question is this: Should we go ahead, or would this effort be 
redundant with what someone else is doing or plans to do? A lot of 
effort was wasted on another project I was involved in recently, and I'd 
like to avoid repeating the problem.
