Re: [ptp-dev] Parallel Tools Platform End User Runtime

They are trying to make the package comparison page [1] more usable. This is the page that lists the different packages and what they contain. They have requested all packages remove "End-User Runtime" from the feature names as this doesn't add any useful information, and are planning to remove all features that just list the project name (e.g. PTP, CDT, etc.) since it also doesn't convey any useful information.

It's there, it's just been renamed "Parallel Tools Platform" for simplicity. Greg can tell you more details on motivation for renaming too.

For the upcoming Kepler release, has the "Parallel Tools Platform (PTP) End-User Runtime" feature been broken into smaller pieces? I'm doing a clean install starting from Eclipse Classic Kepler RC1 and when I go to the update site "Kepler - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/kepler", under General Purpose Tools, I see a bunch of PTP features to install (e.g. PTP Contributed Target System Configurations"), but I no longer see an End-User Runtime package. Is it missing or just broken up?

Thanks,
Chris
