[ptp-dev] Null pointer exception in TAUAnalysisTab.performApply at PTP 5

I'm getting the following null pointer
exception when I click the Apply or Profile buttons in a profile configuration
dialog at the PTP 5.0.4 level. I am also seeing this exception at the latest
PTP 5.0 branch level. Since I get a null pointer exception, no values are
saved when I click the profile or apply buttons.

I am running Eclipse and PTP on a Windows
7 system and I do not have any TAU code installed anywhere. I have not
set enything in the ETFW preference pages.

I looked at this with a debugger and
the problem is that taulib is null at this point.

Backtracking a bit, it looks like taulib
is set in TAUAnalysisTab.testTAUEnv where it looks like that method is
trying to get  the value by calling bindir.getParent().getChild("lib")
 and where bindir is set in TAUAnalysisTab.initMakefiles(). In that
method, it looks like the code is trying to get a preferences setting and
where the value returned is "".

Note that if I open the run/profile
configuration in the run configuration dialog, then the settings in the
run configuration are saved.
