I reactivated the ptp commit messages. For now they go to ptp-cvs-commit. I will change it when the new list is available.
By default the commit mail only contains the number of lines modified per file not a full diff (see last two messages on ptp-cvs-commit for examples) . Would you prefer the full diff or is the default format sufficient for everyone?
We can't rename the list, so a new list will be created called ptp-commits. It should be available tomorrow. So if you want to use ptp-cvs-commit for now that should be fine.

The CVS repo will remain read-only (and will still be available for the SC tutorial). It will eventually be archived.
It's not difficult to switch from CVS to Git:
1. Remove all the CVS plugins from your workspace.
2. Use the 'Git>Projects from Git' import wizard.
3. Click on Clone... and enter the repository URI:
4. Use your committer userid and password.
5. Click Next> to choose the branches you want to clone (usually ptp_5_0 and HEAD).
6. Click Next> to choose where you want the repository located locally. It can be anywhere.
7. Click Finish. The repository should be downloaded.
8. Once the repository has downloaded you should see it in the list. Select it.
9. Click Next> then Next> again and you should see a list of all the projects.
10. Select the ones you want (usually all) and click Finish.
