[platform-update-dev] how to get a local-site-type from a update-server-type-site?
|
hi,
I'm looking at possibly bundling up some standard
eclipse plug-ins with an eclipse distribution, but the plug-ins are only
available via an update site. My current understanding is
that
1) there are
two types of install site currently defined by Eclipse: local ones, and ones
available via an update server
2) you can
mirror a remote update-server-type-site to what appears to be an
update-server-type-site on your file system via the update manager
API*
3) you can
add features to an eclipse installation by adding a
local-type-site
I can't find a way to get hold of a site in the
local-type-site format from an update server though - is there a way? (is this
the right approach?)
any help appreciated,
thanks,
Andrew
