Re: [platform-ui-dev] Article on workbench internals

Stefan, just to clarify, by "grab bag" I was referring to the list of
articles on the wiki, not the content of your article (which is great).

Randy: Thanks for the kudos.

Nick is right: this is sort of a grab-bag (not entirely random, but it
only covers specific bits of the workbench relating to the management
of views and editors). Could you suggest a better title (or any
content that is visibly missing)?

This content will quickly get stale unless it is kept up-to-date.
However, the current content will always apply to Eclipse 3.1. Here's
what I'd like to do:

- Keep this as a "live" document on the dev page, so that UI
committers can add to and revise it as the internals change (time
permitting).
- Try to get contributions from other UI committers, to make it more
complete and less of a grab-bag. Submit the result as an Eclipse
corner article that describes the 3.1 design.
- Every major release, submit the latest version as an Eclipse corner
article (if an up-to-date version exists). Each Eclipse corner article
can link to the "live" version off the dev page.

Bob: if you haven't done so, please file a PR suggesting the changes
to the website. I wrote this document because it is the type of thing
I wanted to read. It would be great if it inspired others to create
similar documents for components they understand well.

  - Stefan
