Actually, you don't really need such
a Button if you turn off the "Link Navigator selection to active Editor"
Workbench Preference. The default value for this preference ought to be
"false". Many users don't realize that this preference exists
because it is not accessible from the actual Navigator View.

If you have this preference enabled,
you should try working for a few days and see if you still feel that a
Button is needed.  I think that the Workbench UI team would like to
avoid adding complexity when possible.

I think the Navigator view would profit from a "Collapse
All" button.

Filed feature request 25825  and supplied a patch.
