Re: [platform-swt-dev] Eclipse on MacOS X progress

MacOS X will be a first class port. Within OTI, Andre and I are "officially" involved. Unfortunately, we're also working very hard on milestone 5 at this point.

I understand that Eclipse may soon be running on MacOS X, and that a very
early version of this was demonstrated at JavaOne (too bad I didn't get
along this year).  Forgive my impatience ;-) , but roughly speaking, how
long is it likely to be before we can have a 'first cut' of this to play
with?

Will the eventual MacOS X port receive the same attention from IBM/OTI as
the mainstream ports (Windows/Linux), or will this remain a 'user community
supported endeavour'?  I ask because the write-up of the Thirsty Bear
meeting suggested that there were several protagonists for MacOS X when the
question about 'other platforms' was asked, and I wonder whether this has
changed the status/emphasis of the Mac port internally.
