Just based on the traffic we've seen so far, it seems most prefer the Carbon approach.  Based on the information I've picked up from everyone's posts, I also suggest going with Carbon.  It could minimize any issues we'd have with Cocoa hiding low-level constructs that SWT needs access to.

Hi,

In order to move expiditiously with the Aqua SWT port I would like to 
propose that we take a poll on where all of us stand with respect to how 
we aught to proceed. If I can summarize, we have two ways to move forward

1.  CarbonSWT  +1
2. CocoaSWT

Could all of us with an interest in see eclipse on OS X make your 
preferences known.
