Re: [platform-releng-dev] 4.3.1 M-Build: M20130904-1700 - respin at 7:05 AM Thursday

Saw your note about 7 AM, so a) wanted to do an hour earlier ... but b) "about 7" means I couldn't get to crontab soon enough so picked the magical time of "0705" to start the build.

Thanks,

That explanation sounds fishy as you noticed yourself in the bug and also because another change has been made before in 'org.eclipse.e4.core.contexts'. However, the bundle version for that bundle was not updated. I've done that now. Let's see how it goes.

Given Igor's explanation in
Bug 416583 I think at least the org.eclipse.e4.rcp feature needs to be "touched" to update its commit date (and hence qualifier) ... so I'm going to assume Paul still gets in early :) and can "touch" at least that feature ... if not other candidates in the "chain of features" he might spot that I am not seeing.

Thanks,

This build failure does not much make any sense to me, given the one change it was supposed to include:

Bug 411147 - ServiceLocator#getService(Class) may register an invalid service object; IEclipseContext#get(Class) does not handle NOT_A_VALUE

See "[ERROR]" summary at

http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/M20130904-1700/buildFailed-run-maven-build

So, I'm inclined to think "sunspots caused a file system glitch" or something ... but, I will poke around in logs and repository a bit looking for more specific clues, but if nothing obvious shows up will simply "try again" at 11 PM (Eastern) at the latest.

I have opened

Bug 416583
- Mysterious build failure for RC3 respin
to track any findings/actions I take.

Thanks,
