Re: [platform-releng-dev] Build schedule for post-M7 builds ... please review calendar

I've updated the calendar at

http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/platform-releng/buildSchedule.html

Please review for typos and conceptual problems.

I've tried to make it consistent with the idea of "slowing down" while at the same time, having predictable build times for a quality release.

Saturday builds still at 3 PM for the usual reason. Others at 8 PM. All I-builds from here on.

I intentionally left builds "off" on the few remaining "all day test passes" ... just to reduce temptation to work on fixing a bug rather than testing.

Post RC3 I put "on demand only" since should be very few, if any, changes going into RC4, but, when there is such a requested rebuild, I suggest we (still) make it at 8 PM unless there's reason to do it at a different time.

All open to your feedback and suggestions.

Thanks,

I need to update our "build schedule" for remaining of Kepler.

As far as I can tell, from looking at last year's calendar, about all we did different was to have I-builds every night instead of N-builds. No "multiple build" days (though, I'm sure "builds on request" are ok if something goes bad and can not wait).

And, of course, the usual  "signoffs" for each RC, meaning builds only on request, on Thursday before an RC.

Does that sound right? Consistent with

http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/freeze_plan_4_3.php

Let me know if anyone has any other suggestions/corrections, else I'll start updating according to that.

As a reminder ... given other build changes these past few months, we no longer have the ability to detect "no changes since last build" .... so ... we will always build even though sometimes no changes.

Thanks,
