We also intend to fix https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=234910 
 ([GTK/Linux] startup error shows empty non-closable error dialog).

This is a low-risk fix for a crash on GTK when the user chooses  
"Cancel" on the workspace chooser dialog.  It is very low risk given  
that it can only possibly be hit when the IDE is on its way to exiting  
anyway.
