Re: [platform-help-dev] Unable to open Help in Unix
|
Hi Ben,
Thanks for the link of 3.1M4 build of eclipse.
Launching eclipse with this build, anc clicking on Help --> Help Contents,
still gives me Server Error (BAD URL) pointing to an invalid URL. The URL
is pointing to http://127.0.0.1:50396/help/index.jsp.
Am not running Eclipse remotely.
Rgds,
Roopa

You'll want to run eclipse with the -clean option in a new workspace to
get rid some persistent config files.
Are you running eclipse remotely?
Maybe we could continue this conversation on the newsgroup
eclipse.platform. The IBM folks tend to like to keep the mailing lists
for their own development type stuff and use the newsgroups for support
type stuff.
Cheers, Ben
I have set the custom browser to mozilla. Again on clicking on the
Help->Help Contents, it gives me Server Error(BAD_URL), pointing
to an invalid URL. The URL is pointing to
http://127.0.0.1:50396/help/index.jsp. Is this URL pointing to the correct
IP address of help.?
Kindly let me know if there any further settings to be done, so that the
help opens up in HP-UX
Thanks,
Rgds,
Roopa

I think that the help system needs some form of mozilla installed as it
uses an embedded mozilla widget. Do you have mozilla installed? Perhaps
someone can provide some more details.
Cheers, Ben
