Please accept this follow-up to my RFC 0003 submission:

The argument for serializing primitives and/or objects as XML fragments
holds true not only for complex but also simple log messages.   Despite the
logged entity (from primitives to IStatus objects), the end result of a
serialized XML format is a more open and common log record format for
adoption by current and future log analysis tooling.
