Re: [photran] Photran as a standalone debugger

Thanks Beth and Lee Smith!

I followed the instructions provided by Beth and it works fine, I can select the Intel Debugger as shown in the screenshot by Lee.
I still have a few questions:

When I select the Intel (R) Debugger, 'idbc' appears  in the 'Debugger Location'. Does it still make sense to add the -gdb flag, or is that superfluous now?

Beth, you said 'it also includes their error parser etc'. I can't find that. Similarly, I do not see any Intel Fortran compiler plug-in when following the procedure you (and the Intel websites) described. The screenshots on Intel's website show that the C and C++ Compilers have their specific plug-in in addition to the Debugger plug-in. Do you know whether something like this exist for the Intel compiler? I use CDT 7.0 (Eclipse Helios), maybe that is too old? I also asked on the Intel Forum.

That allows you to install the eclipse plug-ins from Intel that help to integrate their tools with CDT (and thus Photran).

So you do Help >Install new software... and add that directory as a local software repository, then finish the installation.
It also includes their error parser etc. to compile and see errors in the eclipse Problems view

(old; use the 8.0 dir instead, but this is a good description of the process)

Lee,

Could you explain what adding this path as a software repository
does? I always thought that it was just the files of Intel's own Eclipse-based debugging environment.
