I am using the test build as a remote target
and everything appears to be functioning in PDE.  Susan found https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=299571
which I have since reproduced.

A test build is available from the branch. 
This build represents the exact same code that got merged back in HEAD.
While we are still waiting on the build from HEAD to complete, please sniff
