Happy new year everyone!!!
To capture the requirements, motivation and possible solutions to this problem, I have started
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox/p2/Proposals/DB_Backed_Repository_Proposal
There are four main components:
1. Non opaque queries
2. Simplified collectors
3. Make collectors Queryable
4. Design collectors as Futures
(The 4th one still needs to be filled in).
We can discuss some of these things today.
