If you make sure that the author field is set properly in your Git commits, you don't have to worry about the patch or the iplog+ flag.

Any time we apply a patch from a non-committer (most patches), the patch must be attached to a Bugzilla item.  Also in the Bugzilla item in the “Attachments” section, for each patch select the Details link set the iplog flag to +.  All OSEE committers now have full Bugzilla edit rights.
