Achim,
Perfect, thanks!
Maybe it is I who have to work on my listening skills!;-)
Thanks,
B.

Hi
obviously I have to work on my communication skills :-)
Basically Bobby got it right. I want to do two things in parallel:
make the interested parties comfortable using GUIdancer and working
on a test strategy. What I had in mind is some discussion paper
written by me where I will outline the approach to testing we use in
our company (because that's all I know about testing :-) ). I'll
focus on integration and regression tests using the GUI and leave
jUnit test for another discussion. I will define the infrastructure
in GUIdancer to see if I'm getting it right. This work should start
a discussion on how we might adapt it to ORMF testing.
Plan:
Paper available (PDF document): 2008-10-20
Test project available (GUIdancer import files): 2008-10-23
Please comment!

Hello Barbara,
This reply doesn't want to speak for Achim just to say what I
understood after last night's talk. As far as I'm concerned I would
like to see a test environment set up with GuiDancer so that we
make a more clearer idea of what we are talking about. After that
we must design some kind of testing strategy because we all know
that if everybody starts the work on his own we wont get anywhere.
So I for one was not talking about starting writing tests, but
about a starting point to base our future discussions.
Best regards,
Bobby (Vasile).
P.S. I have noticed yesterday ( and I should of thought of it
sooner) that it is pretty difficult to pronounce my name in English
especially when I have a nickname ( one that I actually use on
everyday life :P). So if it is ok with you I will sign and I would
prefer to be called Bobby.

Subject: [ormf-dev] Test strategy
Hi Achim.
After our conference last night I discovered that your approach to
testing was not clear to me. I thought that you would evaluate what
we have been doing so far and then come up with your own bigger and
better strategy, which you would then share with the team for
discussion prior to starting any concrete testing work. From your
conversation with Vasile last night it appeared instead as if you
are going to start immediate testing. Am I mistaken? I think that,
for ourselves, Joel and I would prefer to see a planned way forward
before we plunge into test cases. Could you possibly comment?
Please note also that we have not yet made the current use cases
for ORMF/Useme publicly available. This will happen real soon now,
and they will be placed on our usual remote server (Pythia). Will
update the dev list when that is done.
Thank you very much in advance,
B.
