Re: [orbit-dev] Ready for Kepler SR2?

I'm promoting that I-build now ... but ... are these intended for Kepler SR2? If so, they'll need to go into an M-build. That's what we'll promote for Kepler SR2. (Recall, we do it that way to minimize changes from one R build to another ... for maintenance).

There is a Kepler_maintenance branch of 'org.eclipse.orbit.releng'. and 'org.eclipse.orbit.build.feature.set1', if you need it. The "bundle versions" in map files, can (usually) be the same as what you just used for the I-build, but you may need to tweak the feature.xml file and use a different version/tag of that, or maintenance build. Please ask if anything isn't clear.

This is my indirect answer to the original question. If anyone releases anything (even if not in "Kepler SR2") its best to request an R-build of Orbit with the specific changes you need, so you have that for long term retention. Since your "3.3" is so close to Kepler SR2, I feel ok about putting them in that R-build ... unless someone knows of complications that would cause.

Thanks,

commons.compress 1.6 and javaewah 0.7.9 should be in the last i-build now:

jgit has requested to move to a newer version of JavaEWAH that I forgot about so I'd like to add it:

The CQ was approved awhile ago but I forgot to create the respective Orbit CQ which needs a +1
https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7823

Are we OK with that?

we will ship jgit/egit 3.2 in Kepler SR2 which has already been released on Dec 18.

Though we want to release jgit 3.3 end of Feb and it would be nice if we could include
apache.commons.compress 1.6 and this update for JavaEWAH 0.7.9.
So if both are available in a stable Orbit build we could update these dependencies
for 3.3. But I would like to release 3.3 based on Orbit's Luna stream since there we
also updated com.jcraft.jsch to 0.1.50 which includes a couple of bug fixes we want.

So can we produce a stable Luna build containing
apache.commons.compress 1.6
JavaEWAH 0.7.9
until beginning of February so that we can update these dependencies in JGit 3.3 ?
