Re: [orbit-dev] Is anyone interested in having Jaxen within Eclipse

Hi Andrea,

I think the key point here is:

> and was the one who wrote it allowed to contribute it to Jaxen under the appropriate license.

The question from the IP Team's perspective is probably related to how much due diligence is performed by the Jaxon Team in relation to contributions. Does the Jaxon Team have substantiation that contributors to their codebase had the authority to contribute said code?

I think that is the core of the IP Team's concern.

Hi Gunnar,

I think the project history is here:

This contain the whole story off all the commit. Do you think this is enough???

Here all committers agree to get thei code relicensed with the BSD style license.
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JAXEN-132

I really cannot figure what other things they need.

I've filled a CQ for this new version but it's stalled because IPTeams
has some doubt about "code provenance".
So "code provenance" generally means that they are unable to verify that
*everything* within Jaxen has a clear history record, i.e. when was it
written and when was it added to Jaxen, who wrote it and who added it to
Jaxen and was the one who wrote it allowed to contribute it to Jaxen
under the appropriate license.

To really address these questions you have to get in touch with the
Jaxon team to get answers.

Gunnar
