So "code provenance" generally means that they are unable to verify that
*everything* within Jaxen has a clear history record, i.e. when was it
written and when was it added to Jaxen, who wrote it and who added it to
Jaxen and was the one who wrote it allowed to contribute it to Jaxen
under the appropriate license.

To really address these questions you have to get in touch with the
Jaxon team to get answers.
