[mylyn-docs-dev] Regarding EPUB support in Mylyn Docs (bug 332122)

Hi,

I'm following up on the discussion started on the Mylyn Dev list (see http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/mylyn-dev/msg01383.html). The way I understand Wayne Beatons blog post http://waynebeaton.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/is-a-cq-required/ and http://eclipse.org/legal/EclipseLegalProcessPoster.pdf – I need to add an IPBug and attach the source code and additional libraries to it in order to start the process. I'll get to that ASAP.

Since this was last discussed, my talk about creating EPUBs in Eclipse (and reading them too) was accepted at EclipseCon Europe (http://www.eclipsecon.org/sessions/build-your-epubs-eclipse-and-read-them-too). So I had to make sure I could keep my promise and did some prototyping. What I see is that the core with EPUB writing and reading is good and stable (this will be in the initial contribution). I also wrote an EPUB reader UI for Eclipse to try this out. As it nicely reads all EPUBs I've thrown at it - from O'Reilly, Gutenberg and other sources I will demonstrate this as planned. However I don't think it will be feature complete (and bug free) by November. Needless to say I'm exited about this. The EPUB reader does it's job and it's pretty cool to read my must used books these days: "Pro Git" and "Professional Programmer's Guide to Fortran77" within Eclipse!

With regards to the presentation I'd be happy to take in any input you have. If there are any Mylyn branded presentation templates around I'd like to use those if I can.

Best regards,
Torkild
