[mylyn-dev] Mylyn is switching to the automatic IP log... now

Committers,

we will finally start using the automatic IP log which is generated
from all attachments flagged as iplog+ in Bugzilla!

That means everytime a patch is merged into Git or CVS the Bugzilla
attachment needs to be flagged accordingly. Thanks to Frank Mylyn
makes that really simple through the Details menu item in the popup
menu for attachments in the task editor. The good new is that
contributions need not (and should not) be added to mylyn-iplog.csv
any longer.

It's also important that tasks are tracked under the Bugzilla product
that corresponds to the Mylyn sub-project where the contribution was
applied, e.g. a bug fix for the Task List should be tracked under
Mylyn Tasks / Framework.

If in doubt where a bug belongs please feel free to ask. If a
contribution spans multiple projects, please ask the contributor to
split up the patch to track it on separate bugs for each project.

I have already moved all bugs assigned to 3.5 to their new Bugzilla
products and flagged contributions on those bugs accordingly. You can
review the generated IP log for each project through dash, e.g. for
Mylyn Tasks: http://eclipse.org/projects/ip_log.php?projectid=mylyn.tasks

We are still discussing how to flag contributions for older Mylyn
releases and if and how to migrate old tasks that are still tracked
under the Mylyn product. I'll give an update on next week's call. If
you have any input you are welcome to join the discussion on these
bugs:

261420: migrate mylyn-iplog.txt to automatic IP log

333288: migrate bugs to new Bugzilla products
 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=333288
