 I wonder where new stuff is actually stored.
 Also you would have to maintain a 3.3 branch to support the old version.

 Strangely the cvs plugin is still using the old method to store the proxy
passwords. But it is using the SecurePreferencesFactory to store the cvs
server passwords.
 Also, I am pretty certain that Subclipse is not using new api introduced in
Eclipse 3.4
