Re: [modeling-pmc] Summary of Key Indigo Modeling Features

Hello,

The first version of EMF Facet (http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/facet/) is in the release train.

EMF Facet is a solution to extend existing Ecore metamodels without having to modify them.
The idea is to provide non-intrusive mechanisms to add new features (types, attributes, operations and references) to a metamodel and to customize the existing features by adding extra properties (icons, labels, etc.)

These mechanisms are based on a query abstraction framework to be able to use all the kinds of queries independently of their implementation language (Java, OCL, ATL, JXPath, etc.)

A part of this tooling has been imported from the MoDisco project and the new feature is a table editor for models. (cf. http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/facet/doc/nightly/org.eclipse.emf.facet.doc/new_and_noteworthy.html)

Regards,
Grégoire Dupé

I am starting to work on the announcement for Indigo. I am always interested in significant new features being released from the modeling projects. Any ideas and feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks
