hi Wayne,
+1 from my side (I'm project lead next to Markus and we discussed
this internally already).
regards,
Moritz
Janet, Markus wants to rename Edapt to EMF Migrate. Can you please
initiate a trademark search.
Modeling PMC: are you okay with this name change?

Hi Wayne,
I did a little survey about the name with a number of people.
Most of the people did not like Edapt, because it does not tell
anything about what Edapt does. However, they liked "EMF
Migrate", as it is also in line with the new projects "EMF
Refactor" and "EMF Store". So I decided that I want to rename
the Edapt project to "EMF Migrate".
Also I am currently writing an article which is due at the end
of the week. If it is possible to rename the project, I would
already use the new name in order not to confuse people.
So my question to you is: Can you please rename the project? How
long does it take to rename it?
Note it is not necessary to rename the project until the end of
this week, since the article does not appear before the end of
the year. However it would be great if you can make it until
then.
I am really sorry for this confusion and hope I did not cause a
lot of extra work for you!
Your help
Cheers,
Markus

Janet, can you comment on the potential trademark issue?
It's a lot of work for webmaster and our IP team, but we can
change the name. I'd rather get it right early on. Before we
start, I'd like to ask you to make sure that you're sure.
Edapt is a name, not a description; that can work to your
advantage with regard to branding and that sort of thing ("EMF
Migration Framework" sounds very generic; and, FWIW, I can
envision other future migration frameworks for EMF).
Have you considered add a by-line, e.g. "Edapt: The EMF
Migration Framework"? Maybe we can make that the project long
name?

Hi Wayne,
I have another question associated to Edapt before I commit
the code. Is it possible to rename the project to e.g. "EMF
Migration Framework"? If it is, what are the steps that need
to be taken? I am just asking, because after this long time
(to get the required paperwork for the contribution), I came
to realize that Edapt is probably not the best name for what
it does. Furthermore, now, there is commercial software
named Edapt, with which we may get trademark problems.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Cheers,
Markus

Hi Markus. The project has been marked as "Incubation
conforming". You should now be able to leverage parallel
IP process.
Can you please make the link to COPE open a separate
browser tab or window?

Hi,
I believe that according to the guidelines the project
EMFT Edapt should be in the Incubation phase now. Can
you please update the status in the database? Can you
sent me an email once the status is updated?
Thank you very much.
Cheers,
Markus
