Hi Christian,

The changes between the versions of
the UML spec and the impact that would have on the UML API is being evaluated
now.
There is a word document outlining the
changes, updated metamodel and regenerated API here : https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=232332

There are some API breaking changes
but whether we can deprecate some of the old API and introduce the new
one without incrementing the major version is still being considered.  
The changes requiring a major version update are very minor which is why
I'm reluctant to do that.

A final document outlining the migration
strategy will be posted on the UML2 wiki when the evaluation is complete.

Hi,

I saw some changes in the MDT website's build pages that suggest that  
the MDT UML2 component is preparing for a 3.0.0 release this year.

Is this on account of incompatible changes in the recent UML 2.2  
revision?  Will you publish a summary of the breaking changes on the
 
Wiki?  Are you planning, perchance, a concurrent MDT UML2 2.3 release
 
with new features?

I ask because of the impact on MDT OCL, which is also anticipating  
incompatible changes in an OCL 2.1 revision in the Galileo timeframe.
