[mdt-papyrus.dev] Papyrus Forum

Dear Papyrus-colleagues,

The forum is one of the first places our Papyrus users go for asking questions.

I guess they judge Papyrus on our forum’s responsiveness (amongst other criteria).

Therefore, I was looking at the amount of answers on the forum, keeping Sébastien’s message in mind:

Considering 2017 (two months now), I can see we have the following score:

  • Posted: 52
  • Answered: 45

I didn’t check the kind of answer, nor whether the answer was satisfying, nor did I judge the “quality” of the original question.

Still some work to do:

  • 13% of the requests remained without any reaction.
One of the users (https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1083863/) is pointing us to a bug by Camille (age >2y, https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=444605) but the post nor the bug have any comments on it.
I have the feeling this sends the wrong message to our “customer”.
  • Looking at the forum the two months preceding Sébastien’s request (sept + oct), I see 45/50 have received at least one answer.
10% remained unanswered, more or less the same score as today.
  • Looking at the forum the two months directly after Sébastien’s request (nov + dec), I see 55/56 have received at least one answer.
    A nearly perfect score!

So, I take the freedom to suggest that we continue the nice trend of the end of 2016 also in 2017 J

(I’m not perfectly positioned to send this message, since I didn’t answer any post myself, but it doesn’t hurt to do some self-evaluation from time-to-time…)

Thanks!

Johan
