Re: [mdt-papyrus.dev] Categories in Papyrus dev list ?

Hi, all,

As far as I know, the forum software used by Eclipse is quite simple:  each project has a forum, and that forum maps one-for-one to a usenet newsgroup on the news.eclipse.org server.  I would hesitate to ask the webmaster to create new newsgroups for each subcomponent of Papyrus.

There is no notion of “category” in this system.  However, it is common practice in fora that host multiple sub-projects (e.g., the EMFT and EMF fora) to ask participants to signal the subject matter area of their questions with […] tags in the post synopsis.  The same could work for Papyrus.  e.g.,

[UML]  How do I connect multiple elements to a constraint?
[CDO]  What happened to the Model Repositories view in Mars?
[RSA Import]  Trouble with sequence diagrams

Now that UML-RT is a separate project, it should already have its own separate forum, so that much is covered automatically.  I suppose it won’t be long before SysML does the same?

Cheers,

Christian

It may be a good idea to have categories. UML, SysML, DSML  (Toolsmith), Extras features, Documentatiion, Examples, ?

Hello Papyrus guys

The Papyrus forum is quite active and there are a lot of answers helping for sure the community.

I have the feeling that the page hosts questions from people extending developing solutions around Papyrus and end users. Do you think it could make sense (if it is possible of course) to create categories to identify topics.

I know people that are able to answer to end users questions and it can be sometimes difficult to identify them.

Regards
