[mddi-dev] MDDi meeting minutes (10/13)
|
Hello all,
You will find below the minutes of the last MDDi teleconference (October 13th). Feel free to modify
and/or provide feedback.
Attendees:
- Xavier Blanc
- Sébastien Demathieu
- Miguel A. de Miguel
- Andrey Sadovykh
Agenda:
- Update on the component releases (modelbus, semantic binding, orchestration tool, mdac)
- Update on the infrastructure changes
- Follow up on candidate contributions (Obeo, TCS)
1) Components
- ModelBus
- Adapter: V2 available in the CVS repository, developments from V1 to V2 done in open source.
- Registry: V2 developed, under review by the Eclipse legal department.
- Notification: Zulkhe agreed to contribute the service V2 but cannot provide a continued
maintenance of the code.
=> Xavier will decide whether he will own the notification service or if we look for an alternative.
- Services: Numerous services have been developed in MODELWARE. Prawee is contacting partners to
collect services and he is writing a dedicated web page for the MDDi site.
=> Sébastien will publish the page when it's ready.
=> Andrey will see whether the Objecteering adapter and the logging service can be released.
- Semantic Binding
No update at the moment.
- Orchestration Tool
Given the involvement of SOFTEAM in MODELWARE/MODELPLEX, it makes to have a SOFTEAM committer to
own and maintain the code of the Orchestration Tool (currently submitted by LIP6).
=> Sébastien will propose an election to grant Andrey the status of committer.
- MDA Tool Container
Miguel is still developing an EMF/RAS based implementation of the MDA tool container. SOFTEAM
proposed to provide support and complete the implementation.
=> Miguel will see if he can release code in the Eclipse repository
=> Miguel and Andrey will follow up on a collaboration UPM-SOFTEAM
2) Update on the infrastructure changes
Migration to the new Modeling infrastructure is being completed. First, Sébastien requested to
migrate Bugzilla, download and web site. This step being done he's going to proceed with the CVS
repository
=> Attendees agreed on the migration of the CVS repository.
=> Sébastien will follow-up with Eclipse and keep the team updated.
=> Sébastien will see if it is possible to copy content of the former newsgroup to the new one.
3) Follow-up on candidate contributions
- Obeo
Stéphane sent a note to give an update on his candidate contributions. Xavier's team is developing
an adapter using their initial prototype. Regarding the MDR2EMF bridge, there is no update at the
moment.
Xavier added that the current implementation focuses on interchange of UML models between MDR and
EMF repositories. It might require solution that works for other meta-models.
- TCS
Xavier has been in touch with Vinay. What he is developing would be definitely helpful if we want
ModelBus to be internet-ready and support incremental model fragments. Xavier will follow-up with him.
BTW, Xavier suggested renaming the integration builds (e.g. V1, V2) to reflect the actual
development status of the project.
=> Xavier will make a draft of a project plan
=> Xavier will make a proposal regarding a change of version numbers accordingly
Thanks,
Sébastien
