Well it sounds fair, except that the example for GET/temperature
uses a rather inappropriate unit code "22.5 C" which according to the UCUM standard means "velocity of light"  
not temperature
The correct code would be "22.5 CEL" not really an overhead IMHO even when dealing with small scale systems. While some of the other units mentioned in relation to data transfer like "kbit/s" look sound, rather similar to the Unit-API implementation I wrote for BT a little while ago (a smaller scale version of UOMo, e.g. no UCUM support)

Since CoAP is coming thru the OMA lightweight M2M and OneM2M standards we
will need a rock solid open-source implementation ;)
