Re: [m2m-iwg] All-in-one Eclipse package for M2M (Benjamin Cab?)

Just to clarify, I was referring to the HTML5 <meter> tag.
See http://www.quackit.com/html_5/tags/html_meter_tag.cfm
or http://html5doctor.com/measure-up-with-the-meter-tag/

To be quite frank, while it may not be used to render in all cases, having at least an optional "unit" element if you already call "value" 'Specifies the "measured" value.' could have done HTML5 very good, and is IMHO a bad thing they missed that in the spec so far.

UCUM codes always have a print (Human Readable) version, beside 2 "machine readable" unique codes if you want, basically the same code in an all Upper-Case case-insensitive version and a case-sensitive one.
E.g. you'd have [in_br] for British Inches, and [in_us] for US Inches, even those depending on the Unit System differ;-)

As the HTML5 Meter tag works so far, there is at least one proper place for the UCUM Print form in a case like this
<meter min=0 max=10 value=2>2cm</meter>
Of course, having the actual value without a unique and distinct unit is not good, but maybe there's hope of a HTML 5.01 similar to HTML 4.01 which came out to fix some things (not too significant) around 2 years after 4 was defined, too?;-)

Essential to UCUM codes and expressions therefore mostly is parsing regardless of the language.
http://unitsofmeasure.org/wiki/CommentsFormalGrammar
provides some overview of the grammar.

UOMo UCUM provides a Java implementation for parsing these, but it should be possible e.g. via parsing tools like LPeg (http://www.inf.puc-rio.br/~roberto/lpeg/) or similar libraries to use them for UCUM support in Lua.
