Re: [m2e-users] m2e import project process

.project is generated by m2e itself. .classpath and .settings/ files are
generated by m2e project configurators, what exact configurators are
invoked depends on project build lifecycle.

A maven project in a SCM repo doesn't contain any info regarding eclipse
settings (.classpath .project .settings), yet when you "check out maven
project from SCM" using m2e somehow these files are generated. Who
generates these files?
The reason I ask that is because I need to generate an extra file in
.settings at checkout time (forget the fact that it's a PDE file) so
knowing who is in charge of generating the files that do get generated
will help me know where to look to configure the generation of the extra
file I need. This new file has static text, I just need to dump a string
in it

I hope that's clearer

You asked very generic question so I gave you equally generic answer. I
can't be more specific until you explain what you are actually doing,
observed behaviour and behaviour you need.

Tycho project Configurators provides some integration between
maven-bundle-plugin and PDE but I do not know if it is desired or
sufficient for your specific case.
